PRIME MINISTER

The Director of Public Prosecutions is reviewing the position in the cases of offenders charged with causing death by dangerous driving causing death by careless driving when under the  influence of drink or drugs, and causing death by driving while unlicensed, disqualified or uninsured.

As part of this he will be reviewing advice about bail conditions in relation to these offences, in particular the circumstances in which a condition (such as not driving) would be necessary to prevent defendants committing further offences while on bail.
