November 2012 - Over the last couple of months we have not been very active with the campaign and have been awaiting the results of the report that the Justice Minister set up.

Last week we were very honoured as a family when Brake asked if we would participate and get involved with their Anti Drink Drive Campaign. As a result of their press release, last week Karen and Rebecca travelled down to London to appear on Daybreak,Sky News, and ITN News. In addition to this Karen has done a number of interviews for various local radio stations. Yesterday morning  she did an interview with BBC Leeds and parts of the interview was repeated through the day and this gave us good coverage and hopefully we are getting the message across about the dangers of drinking and driving or taking drugs and driving.

17th July 2012 -  The Rt. Hon. Greg Mulholland M.P. raised a debate in Parliment regarding the Bail Conditions and the Justice Minister replied and confirmed that changes had already been made and will continue to be made, and he reiterated about the report that will be produced later in the year.

Mrs Strong "If he [McRae] had been stopped for drink-driving on New Year's Eve he would have lost his driving licence straight away," she said.

"Because he killed someone it took longer to go to court and therefore he was at liberty to drive."

Mrs Strong's local MP Liberal Democrat Greg Mulholland said he supported the aims of the online petition.

"In the case of this particular kind of serious offence, where someone has lost their life through drink-driving or driving under the influence of drugs, it frankly seems common sense that they should not be allowed to drive until the case has been heard," he said.
